The iPad is a tablet computer which is a direct competitor of the Kindle by Amazon. It is very similar to the iPod Touch except that it has 4 times the display area. You are able to connect to the internet by Wi-Fi, print, video, photos, and audio.
Apple’s creation of the iPad began in 1993 with the Newton MessagePad 100. Apple brought out more Newton type PDAs and stopped in 1998. Development of the iPad continued and parts of the development process were combined with that of the iPhone and iPod. The iPad was finally released in January 27,2010 and during the Grammy Awards, Stephen Colbert announced the nominees using an iPad.
